Today, Lisa Mahoney, President of The Clark Group, attended the Environmental Permitting Technology and Data Summit in Washington, DC.
The Summit brought together Federal agency staff and external stakeholders to share knowledge and build a community of practice around improving the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental reviews and permits through technology and data in accordance with the Biden-Harris Permitting Action Plan (Action Plan).
The Biden-Harris Action Plan outlines the Administration’s strategies to strengthen and accelerate Federal environmental review and permitting and ensure the timely and sound delivery of much-needed upgrades to America’s infrastructure. Among its key elements, the Action Plan directs agencies to “make full use of available technology, data, and tools to efficiently and holistically assess environmental and community effects, including information on climate change effects and identify ways to make enhanced use of new technology to collect, analyze, share, and publicly communicate relevant information.”
One of the Summit’s panel discussions, Exploring Technology’s Role in More Effective and Efficient Environmental Reviews, shed light on the current landscape of environmental review and permitting data and applications throughout the federal government, and the ways in which technology and data standardization can be employed to improve current environmental review practice. The Clark Group was honored to engage with the dialogue at the Environmental Permitting Technology and Data Summit which aims to refine and improve the mechanisms and impacts of environmental review.
