On January 10, 2020, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to revise NEPA’s implementing regulations and procedures, which include the most significant proposed amendments since the regulations were first promulgated in 1978.
TCG’s NEPA experts have reviewed the proposed amendments and have been active in the public engagement process during the public comment period for the NPRM, which closed on March 10, 2020. Lisa Mahoney attended one of CEQ’s public hearings on February 11, 2020 at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 8 in Denver, CO, and Holly Reuter and Victoria Gartman attended public hearings on February 25, 2020 at U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, DC.
We are actively monitoring the status of the NPRM as both NEPA practitioners and as environmental consultants dedicated to providing our clients with top NEPA expertise and support.
