The Vermont Green Business Program (VT GBP) is a voluntary program administered by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VT DEC) that provides technical assistance and resources to Vermont businesses to implement and improve sustainability practices related to energy, water, waste, chemical use, and product purchasing.

VT DEC hired TCG to administer the Vermont Green Business Program and to work with businesses throughout the state to help them achieve program membership. Our support included identifying and conducting outreach to prospective members and providing technical assistance to applicants throughout the membership process. This included conducting on-site assessments with applicants to gather data on current practices and evaluate options based on business type, size, and structure. After data collection, we worked with businesses to provide tailored resources and recommendations to help them make necessary improvements to achieve membership based on environmental best practices, including alternative product purchasing, energy efficiency measures, water conservation strategies, and waste and recycling alternatives.
