The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) is the central planning agency for the federal government in the National Capital Region. TCG developed and presented a training course entitled “Implementation of NEPA: Custom Course for the NCPC” which was presented to NCPC staff. The 3-day course included a history of environmental law and NEPA, case studies and an overview and discussion of the legal, policy, and procedural requirements relative to NEPA and the National Historic Preservation Act.

The course included an overview of the legal, policy and procedural requirements of NEPA and course material was tailored to NCPC issues to assure participants left the course with knowledge and materials to assist them with future NEPA requirements. The success of this course led to a subsequent contract to update NCPC’s Submission Guidelines, which explain the procedures for review and approval of projects and plans within the National Capital Region (NCR) by NCPC.
