Gustavo Rubio
Managing Director of Environmental Planning and Compliance
Gustavo Rubio is a marine scientist with over 20 years of experience overseeing hundreds of projects for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Coast Guard, and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. The projects varied in scope and complexity and included subject matters such as fisheries, protected species, and coral reef research and management; environmental compliance; social science and economics; outreach, communications, and education; and climate change.
Prior to joining TCG, he was a Vice President at ECS Federal where he helped establish a science and environmental research capability by working with a multidisciplinary group of professionals and serving as the primary management and technical interface to customers and senior leadership.
Mr. Rubio earned a Master of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science at the University of Mobile. Mr. Rubio grew up in El Salvador, Central America and currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland. In his free time, he enjoys running, surfing, and skateboarding. Mr. Rubio is also a certified Project Management Professional.
